Island Painting & Drywall Ltd. Sold to New Owners

Charlottetown, PE: Island Painting & Drywall Ltd., a Charlottetown-based painting business, has been sold to new owners, effective November 30, 2020. Previous owners Perry and Charlyne Herritt, have owned and operated the painting business since 2016, have sold to Colin Parsons and Shawn MacKenzie, in a deal facilitated by Confederation M&A.

Island Painting & Drywall Ltd. was established in 1977 and quickly built a reputation for first-rate quality painting and timely service at competitive rates – all of which remain with the company today. The business offers a wide range of commercial and residential painting services, including but not limited to, interior painting, exterior painting, seam filling, vinyl wallcovering, wallpaper hangings, staining and varnishing.

“We are proud to have owned and operated Island Painting & Drywall – a long-standing, local success story that has been operational for over 43 years in Prince Edward Island”, says former owners Perry and Charlyne, “Through this process we have gotten to know Colin and Shawn and we feel very comfortable the business is in great hands moving forward”.  

Colin Parsons and Shawn MacKenzie bring a combination of business knowledge and are very much excited to partner on this opportunity. Colin will assume Perry’s role as the General Manager of the company. “We’re excited to assume ownership of this long-standing, reputable business”, they shared in a joint statement. “We are very much looking forward to carrying on the highest-standard of service islanders have come to expect with Island Painting & Drywall.”

As part of the transfer to new ownership, Perry and Charlyne will be staying on to work at the business into 2021 to ensure a smooth transition with the new owners.
