Arsenault Bros. Construction Continue Expansion in Atlantic Canada with Acquisition of A-1 Drywall & Acoustics
We are pleased to announce that effective April 5, 2024 A-1 Drywall & Acoustics (A-1), based in Moncton, New Brunswick, has been acquired by Arsenault Bros Construction, Atlantic Canada’s leading contractor for commercial interior and exterior finishing.
A-1 was founded in 2013 by Gilles Cormier – a leader in the industry with over 25 years experience in drywall and construction. Based in Moncton but serving the broader New Brunswick area, A-1 has developed a reputation built on their record of customer satisfaction and attention to detail. The company offers a range of services for residential and commercial clients with a core focus area of walls and ceilings.
Arsenault Bros Construction, a second-generation family business founded in Prince Edward Island over 40 years ago with offices now across Atlantic Canada, is owned and operated by brothers Lucas and David Arsenault. Arsenault Bros Construction currently employs over 500 people across Atlantic Canada between its related companies which include Arsenault Bros Construction, Arsenault Properties, Tops to Floors, and Vintage Textured Wall Systems. The acquisition of A-1 adds over 60 more staff members to the group of companies.

Gilles Cormier is going to be staying on with the business to continue supporting the team and transition for a period of time.

I want to personally thank all the employees who have helped me grow the business, and when looking for a successor I felt the values of Arsenault Bros were well aligned with mine,” said Gilles Cormier. “Ultimately the fit was ideal and I take comfort knowing our staff and customers will be in good hands.”
The acquisition of A-1 comes fresh off the heels of their acquisition of Vintage Textured Wall Systems in Dieppe, New Brunswick – a leader in the application of exterior insulated finish systems (EIFS) – which transacted in November 2023.
