Wayne Carew | President
In 2010 Wayne joined the MRSB management team and has since transitioned to President of Confederation M&A. He provides expert advice to private sector clients on every aspect of buying or selling a business including risk assessment, defining and approaching potential buyers and sellers, due diligence and post-acquisition support. Wayne’s extensive management and ownership experience in fields ranging from post-secondary education and healthcare to automotive sales has given him a leading edge in achieving successful deals for his clients. His wide-reaching contact list and his understanding of every stage of the business process allow him to provide an excellent level of service. Wayne currently serves on the Executive of the Board for the Slemon Park Corporation, Prince County Hospital Foundation and the National Board of the Canada Games. He lives in Stanley Bridge, Prince Edward Island with his wife Nancy and enjoys spending time on their boat and travelling.
Trisha Mossey | CPA, CA | Principal, Senior Advisor
Trisha graduated from UPEI in 2009 and completed her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2012. Starting her career with MRSB Chartered Professional Accountants, she has since transitioned her focus to mergers and acquisitions with Confederation M&A, helping clients with various aspects of buying, selling and valuating their businesses. Trisha enjoys learning from her colleagues and working with business owners on Prince Edward Island and across Atlantic Canada to achieve their buying and selling goals. Trisha is also a member of the Holland College Foundation Board of Directors, where she assists with securing gifts to continue the ongoing development of the college.
She lives in Charlottetown with her husband, Matt and son Cameron.
Jeff MacKenzie | MBA | Principal, Senior Advisor
Jeff obtained his BBA from UPEI in 2011 and his MBA from Lancaster University Management School in the United Kingdom in 2012. Jeff began his career working as a Manager in the Cavendish tourism industry and later went on to the work for international companies based in the United Kingdom and Toronto as a management consultant. Jeff’s experiences helped him learn the ins and outs of businesses in a variety of industries and gained him experience transitioning businesses through difficult change.
Jeff currently lives in Charlottetown with his wife Becky. He's a board member of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce as well as the Community Foundation of PEI. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and is an avid traveller, having been to 25+ countries and hoping for many more.
Bob Brown | Senior Advisor
Bob brings an extensive background with varied experience developed from a diverse and successful background in the oil and gas, real estate, gaming, and sustainable packaging industries. Bob joins the Confederation M&A team and looks forward to providing excellent customer service working with clients throughout New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada to ensure a smooth transition whether buying or selling a business. Bob currently resides in Fredericton and enjoys playing hockey, golf and spending time with his family and friends.
Peter MacSwain | Transaction Advisor
Peter recently joined Confederation M&A in June, 2018. He obtained his BBA with a focus of economics in 2009 from the University of Prince Edward Island, and was most recently employed with MRSB Group, a DFK Canada and Confederation M&A affiliate based in Charlottetown. He’s currently enrolled at the CPA Atlantic School of Business where he’s working towards his CPA accreditation. In the past, he gained significant experience in the hospitality industry working from coast to coast. He’s pleased to join the team and to assist new clients as a transaction advisor.
Peter currently lives in downtown Charlottetown and enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, playing golf and Prince Edward Island beaches.
April Whynot | Executive Assistant
Originally from Nova Scotia’s south shore, April first called PEI home after graduating from NSCC in 1994. She then moved to Ontario, eventually settling in Hamilton and worked as a secretary for a large Canadian organization for a number of years.
In 2007, she decided PEI was the right place to call home and made the move back with her young daughter. Since 2008 she has been working as an Executive Assistant and has proven to be a valuable asset to both the Confederation M&A team, as well as affiliate MRSB Group.
